Who They Are

EdTech Innovations builds reporting dashboards for school districts — the kind of thing a superintendent looks at to understand what's happening across thirty schools at once. They aggregate data from a bunch of different systems (SIS, LMS, assessment tools) into one place.

We started talking to them because a couple of our district customers were already using both products and manually re-entering attendance data from Autotend into the EdTech Innovations dashboard.

The Problem They Solve

District administrators don't want to log into five different tools to understand attendance trends. They want one screen that shows them: which schools have attendance problems, which grades are struggling, and how this month compares to last month.

How the Integration Works

It's a webhook-based sync. When attendance data is recorded in Autotend (or updated, or corrected), we fire a webhook to EdTech Innovations with the relevant records. On their end, it gets merged into the district's reporting dashboard within minutes.

For the district IT team, setup is:

  1. Generate an API key in Autotend's admin settings
  2. Enter it in EdTech Innovations' integration panel
  3. Select which schools and date ranges to sync

The whole setup takes about ten minutes.

Results

Valley Unified School District was the first to go live with the integration. Their data coordinator told us she went from spending two hours a week on attendance reconciliation to zero. The data just shows up.

Three months in, they've also caught two cases where attendance wasn't being recorded for a specific class due to a teacher misconfiguration — something they wouldn't have noticed until an audit.
